Details
BIGTREETECH's second-generation EBB36, rebuilt around the things that kill toolhead boards: nearly every input and output is protected against wiring mistakes, and it's tested in chambers up to 75 °C. It mounts on a 36 mm pancake extruder motor and runs the extruder, heater, thermistor, fans, probe and LEDs over a single CAN or USB connection to Klipper.
Switching between CAN and USB is one jumper, and the passthrough port follows along. The hotend fan header reads tacho, so Klipper can stop a print if that fan dies. Every fan output lets you pick 5 V or 24 V, and a dedicated thermistor watches the stepper driver's temperature.
Specs
- MCU: ARM Cortex-M0+ STM32G0B1CBT6, 64 MHz
- Input: 24–28 V DC (not for 12 V printers)
- Stepper driver: TMC2209 on board
- Heater output: 120 W (24 V / 5 A)
- Fans: 2 × 2-pin PWM (FAN0, FAN1), 1 × 3-pin with tacho (FAN2), 5 V/24 V selectable; 1 A total, 1.5 A peak
- 5 V output: 1.5 A peak
- Thermistor: PT1000 or NTC
- Accelerometer: LIS2DW on board
- I²C port for sensors such as Eddy probes or chamber/environment sensors
- Connectors: XT30 power, JST-XH motor and CAN, Molex heater terminals
Good to know
For CAN you need a USB-to-CAN adapter or a mainboard that acts as a CAN bridge, such as the Manta M8P. Upgrading from an EBB36 V1.2? The Gen2 needs 24 V and has its own pinout and Klipper config, so check your wiring before you swap. Pinouts and sample configs are on BIGTREETECH's GitHub.
