Details
A high-voltage stepper driver for when TMC2209s run out of headroom. Run your A/B motors at 48 V and they hold torque at speeds where a 24 V setup starts skipping. It fits the high-voltage driver sockets on boards like the Manta M8P V2.0 and Octopus Pro, and Klipper controls it over SPI.
This is the Plus without the enclosed heatsink case: the same TMC5160-TA chip and eight separate high-power MOSFETs, in a smaller 58 × 50 × 28 mm package that fits tighter electronics bays.
Specs
- Chip: Trinamic TMC5160-TA
- Input voltage (HVIN): 8–56 V (60 V max)
- Current: up to 10.6 A RMS, 15 A sine-wave peak
- MOSFETs: 8 × external, 100 V / 93 A, down to 6 mΩ
- Sense resistor: 22 mΩ
- Capacitors: 2 × 560 µF
- Modes: SPI or STEP/DIR; StealthChop and SpreadCycle
- 24 V always-on fan header for active cooling
- Size: 58 × 50 × 28 mm
Good to know
Sold per piece. Check that your board's driver socket supports high voltage and SPI, and set its motor power jumper correctly before powering up: 48 V into a 24 V-only socket will destroy the board. Point a fan at it for sustained high current. Documentation is on BIGTREETECH's GitHub.
Pre-order. I'm bringing these in directly from BIGTREETECH. Expected to ship in 3–4 weeks. As soon as they land in the Netherlands they go out to you, and you pay no import fees or customs on top.
